Session approved the outline for an ongoing missional partnership agreement with Thrive Kids Canada. The agreement defines mutual goals, responsibilities and desired outcomes for this longstanding missional partnership. Mountainview and Thrive share a vision to share a staff person who would work at Thrive and also act as Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Mountainview. It is hoped that such a role would be an effective outreach to Thrive children and families to encourage them to worship at Mountainview.

Session reviewed a list of persons nominated by the congregation for the role of serving Elder. The Minister and the Clerk will meet with those persons to ascertain their willingness to serve at this time. Bill Campbell has relinquished his role as a serving Elder due to ongoing health concerns.

We continue to build strategic ties with the campus ministry program at UBCO. Chaplain Rev. Todd Statham was the guest preacher at Mountainview on October 16 and several UBCO students were hosted for Thanksgiving dinner by Mountainview families.

Mountainview is in a financial deficit position at September 30 of $5,686 for the nine-month period.

As Christmas falls on a Sunday in 2022, Session decided to NOT hold a Sunday worship service on Christmas morning. The Christmas Eve service will go ahead as per usual on December 24. The monthly hymn sing service will move to December 17 that month.
