Session Notes From Its December 2021 Meeting
~ Mountainview is in compliance with the latest public health orders, which require the wearing of masks at worship services and attendance limited to 50% of capacity
~ Elder pictures are now on the church website
~ Eva Chan has been hired as our part time Social Media and Communications Coordinator
~ Session has planned a retreat day on January 22 to strategically examine its many roles
~ Pastor Emery will be away December 25-Janaury 8 for vacation, and will attend the Alpha Holy Spirit retreat weekend on January 9. Ross Bassingthwaighte will preach on December 26, Rev. Kobus Genis on January 2 and Rev. Todd Statham on January 9
~ The Lance Fund has been initiated to receive legacy gifts in honour of Lance Secret, a long-time member, Elder and Chair of the Board of Managers at Mountainview. Funds will be used for capital projects and major church repairs
~ Children will take communion in the Sanctuary on January 2
~ Session reviewed and approved in principle a conceptual redevelopment vision to change the Fireside Room into a multi-purpose meeting room with a comfortable, coffee house vibe. As part of the redevelopment, the library will be relocated there. The Board will be asked to review the feasibility and costing for the redevelopment
~ After many years of faithful service, Walter Dionne is retiring as a serving Elder effective December 31. Walter was presented with a study bible from Session in appreciation for his service
