How & Why We Worship!
We have 4 principles that guide our Worship Service at Mountainview:
- It is Theological– who is God and how does he relate to us- our worship of God is informed by our doctrine of God. We want our worship practice to conform to what we believe about God.
- It is regulated by the holy scriptures– we believe that we should worship God only in the way he has revealed himself to us in the Bible
- Our worship expresses that Holy Worship is a Dialogue with his covenant people– we offer prayers, praises & offerings
- Worship is covenantal– he binds us together in covenant love through Jesus- we believe in worship that God is present in a special way in corporate worship and that we can expect to encounter him together. This reaffirms his covenant to us and we respond in worship to that (prayer of repentance, preparing our hearts for worship. eg)
